About Surya Kund

Surya Kund, located on the west side of the Vishnupad temple, is one of the most prominent tourist attractions of Gaya. It is a pond and according to a popular belief, it is said that a holy dip in this pond sets a person free from all the sins committed.

The destination is flocked by tourists during the time of festivals that are organised at this place twice a year. The first festival is celebrated in the month of March and April, while the second festival is held in the month of September and October.

In addition, the place is visited by thousands of devotees on Chhath. During this time, the Sun God is worshipped and devotees from nearby places come to take a dip in the holy water of Surya Kund
