Supa Dam
About Supa Dam
Located in Dandeli town across the Kali River is the Supa Dam built by the Karnataka Power Corporation Limited. At the foot of the Dam are two electric generators in a powerhouse which was commissioned in 1985.
Being the second largest Dam in Karnataka, it is a major tourist spot. The name of the Dam comes from the name of the God of Forests, that is, Suparulu. It is believed that the Forest God bestows his blessings on the area.
The Dam is a popular picnic spot. Locals and tourists visit the Dam to capture the panoramic views and enjoy water activities like boating and scooting.
