About Shivganga
The Shivganga is a sacred pond located 200 m from the Baba Baidyanath temple at Deoghar. The devotees take water from the Shivganga to offer to Lord Shiva at the Baidyanath temple. The huge idol of Lord Shiva on one end of Shivganga is a majestic sight.
It is said that historically the pond never dries up. Taking a dip in the Holy Shivganga is considered equivalent to taking a dip in the Ganges. The pilgrims visiting Deoghar make it a point to take a dip here to cleanse their souls of sins. The water is said to have healing powers.
