About Shitala Ghat

In 1740 pt. Narayana Diksit the preceptor of Bajirao Pesava-1, made this ghat pucca. In fact, that is the southern extension of Dasasvamedha Ghat, where exists Dasasvamedha Tirtha and snap shots of Dasasvamedhesvara and Dasaharesvara. After the well-known sitala temple there, this ghat is known as after. On the eighth mild- half of lunar months of Caitra, Vaisakha Jyestha and Asadha and Asvina people have fun the festival of Sitala Asthami.

The set of stairs lead all the way down to something as small as a pond or as big as a major river. The term ghat refers to a chain of steps leading all the way down to a frame of water, in particular a holy river.
