About Shankumugham Beach

Shankumugham Beach is a beach in Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala, south India. The beach is on the western side of Thiruvananthapuram . Shankumugham Beach is a quaint location with the beautiful white sands, pearl waves gushing around and a scenic atmosphere to lure with. One can plan a weekend getaway or witness the splendid sunset with special one at this beach which is located miles away from the teeming crowds and closer to the lap of healing nature.

Jalakanyaka a sculpture of a Mermaid by Kanayi Kunhiraman adds beauty to the beach. This giant statue is more than 35m long. Fishing is a major activity that can be seen in Shanghumugham Beach. The beach is well known for its breath taking sunset view which is such memorable moment whose beauty will refresh one’s mind. The beach is crowded during weekends and during festival celebration by the local and tourists.
