About Sakshi Gopal Temple

Sakhigopala Temple officially referred to as Satyabadi Gopinatha Temple is a medieval temple devoted to Lord Gopinatha located within the city of Sakhigopala at the Puri Bhubaneshwar motorway in Odisha, India. The temple is built in the Kalinga fashion of temple structure. It is said that a negative young man of the village, later named it as Sakhigopala, fell in love with the daughter of the village headman. However, being of a better economic repute, the headman adverse marriage between this younger guy and his daughter.

The villagers, along with the headman and the younger man, went on a pilgrimage to Kashi. The village headman fell ill and turned into deserted by means of fellow villagers. The young man tended to him so properly that he soon got nicely and, in gratitude, promised his daughter in marriage to the younger man. As soon as they lower back to the village, the headman went back on his promise, asking the younger man to supply a witness in assist of his.
