About rock garden

The Rock Garden of Chandigarh is basically an open-air exhibition hall which uses urban and industrial wastes. This was designed by Nek Chand who was a Road Inspector. This beautiful garden is located in sector 1 of Chandigarh. This garden is spread over an area of 40 acres. This garden is basically a collection colorful mosaic of art pieces and sculptures.

The main attractive part of this garden is that this garden was made from industrial and home wastes. This was made single-handedly by Nek Chand which is a fest in itself. Brimming with around 5000 statues, this place is now considered as one of the main attractions of Chandigarh.

There are mainly 3 phases of this rock garden. One phase contains terracotta pots with chambers decorated with tiles. There are many statues of ious animals and birds alike.The second phase is the crowd attractor which has a waterfall and is quite a crowd puller. The third phase has many life-size statues of animals installed.
