About Rewan Ghat

Rewan Ghat is placed in Varanasi and its building turned into built by means of Lala Mishir, royal purohit of King Ranjit Singh of Punjab. It become recognize as Lala Mishir Ghat. But in 1879 it was purchased by Maharaja Rewan. To keep from Currents of Ganga, Ghat has pucca stairs and each the corners of stairs have ‘Ast pahal’. In the later half of of 20th century. Maharaja Rewan had donated . This constructing to Banaras Hindu University. There may be very little signifcance of cultural and social interest right here.
In 1879 the king of Rivan has purchased this and made sufficient repairing. The northern and the southern porches are primarily based at the joints of pillars. Both the sides there are stone steps. In 1955 the king of Banaras has donated this palace to Banaras Hindu University that uses it as dormitory for college students of performance artwork and song. During 1985-2000 the ghat became completely blanketed by using the siltation for the duration of annual flood. Thanks to a NGO, below the course of Shanti Lal Jain, that the silt has been absolutely recovered and now there exists open space. Some of tea shops have occupied the place.
