Radhanpur

Radhanpur is a town and a region in Patan area in the Indian territory of Gujarat. As indicated by the convention, the city is named after Radhan Khan, a relative of Fateh Khan Baloch. Fateh Khan Baloch got flexibility from the Gujarat Sultan Ahmad Shah III, which incorporated the region of the later day city of Radhanpur. Radhanpur had a place with the Vaghelas and was known as Lunavada after Vaghela Lunaji of the Sardhara branch of that clan. In this way, it was held as a fief under the Gujarat Sultanate, by Fateh Khan Baloch, and is said to have been named Radhanpur after Radhan Khan of that family.

Babi precursors either entered India going with Mughal ruler Humayun or entered the administration of Sultan Muzaffar III of Gujarat Sultanate 1561 - 1572. Bahadur Khan Babi was, in the rule of Shah Jahan, selected supervisor of Tharad, and his child Sher Khan Babi made chief, thanadar, of Chunval in 1663. Their descendents controlled different towns around Radhanpur from 1693 to 1730 as Mughal fief. Radhanpur State was under Palanpur Agency of Bombay Presidency, which turned out to be a piece of Banas Kantha Agency in 1925. Bombay Presidency was redesigned as Bombay State after autonomy. In 1960, Gujarat was shaped from Bombay State and Radhanpur fell under its Banaskantha area.
