Pratapgad fort Trek

Pratapgad is said to be one of the most difficult forts to penetrate and capture. This fort is situated in a very close proximity near Mahabaleshwar. The built was of such a high quality that event nature couldn't destroy this fort. Due to its remains, many tourists from far and wide visit this attraction.

Pratapgarh has a legend associated with it. As the name suggests this fort was named as victory fortconverted. Shivaji Maharaj used to plan all the main strategies related to politics and next military moves at this fortress. This fort houses even the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji. This statue weighs approximately 4 tonnes and it is said that this statue was transported in here in parts, later on, they assembled the statue. Even now this fort belongs to the dynasty of Shivaji and only the statue is maintained by the government. This fort is a must visit as this fort, apart from its historical significance offers great views.
