About Ooty Lake

You would definitely love to visit this place in summer. After a hot day, you would love to play with water at this lake! This beautiful lake is an artificial lake that stretches and makes an irregular shape which resembles the letter L. This lake is about 3km in length.

This picturesque lake was actually artificially formed by John Sullivan who was the founder of Ooty by damming the streams. This lake was said to be larger in size as compared to its present size. But as the time passed this lake shrunk into its present state.

The most recreative activity at this place is renting out a Houseboat at this place. This place is surrounded by tall eucalyptus trees and is a scenic delight. Nature lovers and photographers would love to visit this place anytime. Boat race events are also conducted in here during the month of May.
