Nohkalikai falls

One of the taller waterfalls in India is the Nohkalikai waterfalls, which changed from a fairly forested drainage into a rocky base and also contains a blue pool. The Nohkalikai falls are located about 5 km from Cherrapunjee. It is the fourth highest waterfall in the world and the height of the fall is about 1100 feet.

This is one of the most prominent attractions of Cherrapunjee. It is a beautiful drive to the falls, through an elevated plateau, leading to a cliff. One can hike a short distance from there to a viewpoint which provides the enchanting views of the beautiful Nohkalikai waterfall, cascading down into an ultramarine pool.

The ideal time to visit the falls is during the monsoon when the view is the most spectacular. There is viewing gallery where the visitors could savour the beauty of the place. There are stairs taking the tourists to various other viewpoints.
