About Nishat Bagh

Nishat Bagh is quite big as compared to the former Shalimar Bagh. This bagh which was designed in the 1600’s by Asif Khan who was the elder brother of Nur Jehan. This agh boasts of having almost 12 terraced gardens at its disposal. These garden is filled wit flowers and well maintained trees.

The central water channel with many fountains is surrounded by chinar trees. This garden with the mountains behind them looks beautiful and picturesque in nature. You would love to take a stroll in this garden and at the same time appreciate the garden’s beauty.

This garden follows Mughal styled Persian architectural design which is splendid in itself. Most of this garden is covered with lawns and other trees such as of almond and Cyprus. Being an historic place this is a must visit place for all the tourist who plan to visit Srinagar.
