About Nawab Wazid Ali Shah Prani Udyan

Nawab Wazid Ali Shah Prani Udyan earlier known as Prince of Wales Zoological Gardens or popularly known as Lucknow Zoological Garden is a 71.6 acre zoo placed within the coronary heart of the capital metropolis of Uttar Pradesh. The Central Zoo Authority of India categorizes it as a massive zoo. The Prince of Wales Zoological Gardens, become hooked up within the year 1921 to commemorate the visit of the Prince of Wales to Lucknow. The concept of establishing Zoological gardens at Lucknow emanated from Sir Harcourt Butler, the Governor of the State.
The Prince of Wales Edward VIII Zoological Gardens, popularly referred to as Lucknow Zoological Gardens, become mounted inside the year 1921 to commemorate the go to of the Prince of Wales to Lucknow. The idea of establishing Zoological gardens at Lucknow emanated from Sir Harcourt Butler, the then Governor of the State and it became acquired enthusiastically by the distinguished landlords and the leading residents of the State who donated liberally for the construction of animal homes and cages and additionally presented animals and birds for show every now and then.
