About National Rail Museum, Delhi
Now, this is something really amazing. Visiting National Rail Museum for getting educated about different kinds of rails, locomotives and carriages, is really out of the ordinary. It is a unique museum located at Chanakyapuri, New Delhi, India looks very fascinating for its attractive collection of more than 100 real size presentation of Indian railways. It contains static and working models, antique furniture, signaling equipment and historical photographs. What motivates you to spend a day out here are the beautiful models of the trains. While getting the complete insight of the place you realize that it beautifully safeguards the trains and coaches that accentuate the time-wise development taken place in this field. So, feel lucky being here for getting a chance to see the first steam engine that covered the regions covering Indian sub continent. Best time to explore the museum is between October to March. Except Mondays you can come here anytime between 8:30 am to 11:30 am summers and from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm winters. You can plan a perfect day out here midst different kinds of locomotives displayed in open. The Museum and its exhibits are indeed informative from historic and entertaining point of view so bring your kids along with you to experience a fun-filled family holiday. Even the school children also pay a special visit to gain practical knowledge about Indian rails. Most of them prefer to begin their journey from the series of old coaches like the best-preserved star attraction, the Fairy Queen in 1855 followed by the handsome Prince of Wales Saloon 1875, the Maharaja of Mysore's Saloon1899, Maharaja of Baroda's Saloon 1886. More you speak less it seems, is the exciting monorail PSMT. The museum winning moment is the time of weekends when you go for boating. You can also take pleasure in toy train ride that covers each nook and corner of the rail museum. For your information the first steam engine on display is the train that ran from Thane to Mumbai, in 1853.
