About Namakkal
Namakkal or Namagiri is a town and a region in Namakkal territory in the Indian locale of Tamil Nadu. It is the base camp of Namakkal zone. Starting at 2011, the town had a people of 55,145. It is a touch of Kongu Nadu Konga Desam region of Tamil Nadu which was strongly and needed by both the obsolete Pallavas and the Pandyas. It was in the hands of Atiakula King called Gunasila who has marriage with Pallava King. Later the taluk was overwhelm by the Cholas in the Kongu Mandalam. By then the Madurai Nayakas came to control in 1623 AD. After the battle between the Cheras, Cholas and Pandiyas, the Hoysalas rose to control and had control till the fourteenth century took after by Vijayanagar Kings till 1565 AD.
Two of the Polygons of Thirumalai Nayak particularly, Ramachandra Nayaka and Gatti Mudaliars ruled the Salem zone. After around 1625 AD, the zone came progressively under the direct of Muslim Sultans of Bijapur and Golkonda Mysore rulers and a brief timeframe later the Marathas, when about the year 1750 AD. The Namakkal Fort is spoken to have been worked by Ramachandra Nayakas. It is one of the commended city in Tamil Nadu.
