About Nainital lake

Resembling Emerald, this beautiful lake nestles Nainitaltal which is the in Uttarakhand state of India. This centrepiece is said to have it’s name derived from the emerald green eyes of shiva’s wife- sati. Naina translates to eye in the world os Sanskrit.

It is said that during immolating herself one of the eye fell inside this lake. It is said that the green eye fell on the spot where the naina devi tempe si situated. Near this lake there is a gurudwara and a masjid. This kidney shaped lake is one of the other 4 lakes of kumaon hills.

If you want scenic view then you must go to the southern side of this lake which will offer you a picturesque look of the town and is quite beautiful.

naini lake is a beauty. did sail this time. oh it was amazing. when there are clouds over the lake, it feels magical. the lake water has also been cleaned now so its a must visit.
