About Mrugagad Fort
Mrugagad fort is a hill fort in Sudhagad taluka of Raigad district, Maharashtra, India. At a peak of 1750 metres, the fort lies near falyan village, and is manufactured from stone. The castle is very small in length and is in a form of spur radiating from the Western ghats. The fortress is very near the Lonavala, Khandala and Khopoli. The base village Bheliv is connected by way of Road to nearest city Jambhulpada. The distance between bheliv and Khopoli is 30 km. Regular buses and personal motors are available from Khopoli and Pali to reach Jambhulpada.
There are stores or resorts in Parli and Jambhulpada. The trek to the citadel begins from the Bheliv village. It takes about 1 hr from the bottom village to attain the pinnacle of the citadel. The route passes via dense forest with huge Mango timber. The rock reduce steps on the japanese ridge of the hill, ends in the top of the citadel. There is a small empty rock reduce cave on the northern fringe of the castle, however the steps are very short. There is not any water available on the fort, so it's miles really useful to carry enough water at the side of.
