Maniharan Tunnel

Maniharan Tunnel is an ancient tunnel in Silchar. Local legends about the tunnel claim that it was used by Lord Krishna once upon a time. This is a popular tourist attraction in the city.

The river Tribeni flows beneath the tunnel. It houses several small temples dedicated to Lord Krishna, Lord Rama, Lakshmana, Garura and Hanuman. Devotees frequent the temple, especially during the Hindu festivals of Shiv Ratri and Holi. The tunnel is a mystical place for the locals with religious legends associated with it.
