About Malgund

Malgund is a small village, situated only 1 km away from the Ganpatipule beach. It is the birthplace of the famous Marathi poet, Keshavasuta. Born in 1866, he is regarded as the poet who brought about a new era of modern Marathi poetry.

There is a monument dedicated to his work, and a musuem where one can gain knowledge about the works of many Marathi poets, old and new. Those who have an interest in the Marathi literature cannot miss this place. The memorial and the Kavi Keshasut Smarak are a must visit.
