About Madan Mohan Temple

The Madan Mohan Temple in Vrindavan is one of the most revered points of all the Holy places in Vrindavan. This is an unmissable attraction on a tour to Vrindavan owing to its long and interesting history and the old structure which has stood the test of time.

It is amongst the oldest temples in Vrindavan. It was built in 1580 on a hillock and surrounded fortified walls. It is just at a little distance from the Banke Bihari Mandir. The temple has a 60 feet high shikhar. It was built by Kaur Ram Das of Mullan.

It is closely associated with the Saint Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the monk and social reformer of the 16th century. The original image of Lord Madan Gopal was shifted to Rajasthan from here to ensure its safety. The replica of the image is still kept here and worshipped. A visit to this impressive temple should be on your list because it can fill your mind with calmness and tranquility.
