About Kolukkumalai Tea Estate

As the name suggests this tea estate is a garden with tea plants! One could even smell the aroma that it leaves mile away before reaching this place. The Kolukkumalai tea estate if around 35 km away from the Munnar city and is built along the ridge that rises from the plains of Tamil Nadu.

Astonishingly this tea estate is about 8000 feet above the sea level which makes it one of the highest tea estate of in the world. Apart from the flavorsome and rich color tea that it offers this place also known for its’ panoramic views and the rugged mountains. Combing them makes the best-blended view ever possible.

One can take about 90 minutes to reach this place. The factory in which the tea is made has stood from several generations. The factory uses the same technique which was used in India since the ancient times. This estate was the proud winner of the southern tea competition of the golden leaf India awards.
