Kaziranga national park

Kaziranga national park is a must visit when travelling to Assam. It is one such park where the one-horned rhinoceros exist. It is said to be a sought after wildlife holiday destination. The park has been declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

The park is a breeding ground for elephants, wild water buffalo and swamp deer apart from the one-horned rhinoceros. The tiger population has also increased in Kaziranga, which is why it was declared as a Tiger reserve in 2006. Wildlife lovers and bird watchers cannot miss this place. Birds like white fronted goose, ferruginous duck, Baer's pochard duck , Asian Openbill etc migrate during winters from Central Asia.

The park is known for its good population of abundant forms of flora and fauna. Its wildlife conservation initiatives are more popular than anything else. The park is slowly managing to grow the population of one horned rhinoceros. The park looks beautiful with the vast expanse of tall elephant grass, marshland and dense tropical moist broadleaf forests. The presence of Brahmaputra river doubles it's beauty.
