About kanheri caves

This cave is located in the Sanjay Gandhi National Park. Basically, Kanheri Caves illustrates the Buddhist influences in Indian arr culture. This cave has an astonishing 109 special entrances. Most peculiar and interesting thing in this cave is the paintings, carvings, and inscriptions which are said to be dated back from the 1st to 10th century.

The newer caves are more ornamental in looks. There is also a congregation hall present in the premises. Surprisingly the water channels are carved out of the stones. This is one of the most important sites for Buddhists. Many people from far and wide come here to witness the ancient architecture. This is one of the most amazing places in the Mumbai.
