Kali Tiger Reserve

Kali Tiger Reserve, the name derives from the river Kali which flows through the eco-system the life saver of its niche. The reserve is spread over an area of 1300square kilometers. The region lies on the western ghat. The region mainly falls in the state of Karnataka but the area has six different protected areas across the states of Goa and Maharashtra reserving a massive area of 2200 kilo meters. The region was first named as Bandeli Reserve or Anshi Reserve later it was named as Kali Tiger Reserve which became the official name. Basically the agglomeration of Kali Tiger Reserve Anshi Dandeli tiger reserve is of Anshi national Park and Dandeli wildlife sanctuary. The place pertains much natural scenario which enthralls the sight. The panoramic view of mountain range, and the serenity of the place charms the viewer. Apart from its natural beauty many wildlife resides here amongst them Bengal Tiger, Blank panthers, Indian elephant and ious bird.
