About Jaitu
Jaitu is a recorded city. Jaitu is a city board in Faridkot region in the Indian territory of Punjab. It is subdivision in Ferozepur Division. It is 30 km from Bathinda, 130 km from Ludhiana, 150 km from Amritsar, 180 km from Patiala and 234 km from Chandigarh. As indicated by a few records, it took its name "Gangsar" from a society story in which Guru Gobind Singh Ji visited the town and was perched on a sand ridge when he saw a holy person crying.
He asked the holy person for what good reason he was crying to which the holy person answered that he was crying since he lost his bowl in the Ganges stream. In the wake of hearing his setback, the Guru shot a bolt which struck the ground and opened a water source there getting water and his lost bowl from the Ganges stream. Later Gurdwara Tibbi Sahib Ji and Gurdwara Gangsar Sahib Ji were developed on both the locales, on the sand ridge where the Guru was sitting and where lake was opened. As indicated by a few records, it was a little town established by Baba Jaitu and took its name "Jaitu" from him.
