About Himatnagar
Himatnagar or Himmatnagar is a region in Sabarkantha region in the Indian province of Gujarat. It is the authoritative central station of the area. The town is on the bank of the waterway Hathmati. Himatnagar was established in 1426 by Ahmed Shah I of Gujarat Sultanate and named it Ahmednagar after himself. He established the town to hold Raos of Idar State in line. It is said that he was so enamored with the place that he thought of making it, rather than Ahmedabad, the capital of Gujarat Sultanate.
