Harshil

Harshil is a village in a valley situated in on the bank of river Bhagirathi at an elevation of 2620 mts above sea level. It is also known as Mini Switzerland of India. Dense Deodar forest, gushing water of Bhagirathi River, chirping birds, serene environment are the highlights of this wonderful destination.

Harsil is an excellent mountain resort amidst the Kumaon Himalayas, Harsil is the perfect destination if one is looking for serenity and solitude in the lap of nature and trekking. It is on the route to Gangotri, a very popular Hindu temple. There are several camping facilities in and around the place. A few kilometres from Harsil, Sattal is a cluster of seven lakes which is surrounded by breathtakingly beautiful surroundings. One can take a 7 km trek from Harsil. It is also adorned with apple orchards.
