Halisahar

Halisahar is a city with a region in Barrackpore subdivision of North 24 Parganas located in the Indian territory of West Bengal. It is a piece of Kolkata Urban Agglomeration. It is called cleanest city in West Bengal. Halisahar is accepted to have existed from the early Middle Ages. It was before named Kumarhatta. In the thirteenth century, amid the rule of Baktiyar Khilji it was known as Haveli Shahar City of Palaces. In the sixteenth century, Abul Fazal's Ain-I-Akbari specified it as 'Halisahar'. The region was set up in 1903. Halisahar is bounteous with water assets. Halisahar falls under the quake zone 3.
