About Gopi Talav

Gopi Talav or the Gopi Tank is a little lake encompassed by shoe like yellow sand, known as Gopi Chandan. This Chandan is utilized by enthusiasts of Lord Krishna to make tilak stamps on their bodies. The Talav has an exceptional importance in the Hindu folklore, as it is accepted to be where gopis came to see Lord Krishna in Dwarka. It is trusted that Lord Krishna executed an evil presence named Bhaumasura and liberated 16,000 princesses from his royal residence at this site. This site got its name as Gopi Talav after the Gopi princesses, who began to look all starry eyed at Lord Krishna and needed to wed him. Gopi Talav is found only 20 km north of Dwarka and 5 km from the Nageshwara Jyotirlinga Temple. This holy lake is arranged on the course to Beyt Dwarka from the fundamental town. Neighborhood transportation like transports and auto rickshaws are accessible from the town for going by this site.
