About Doling Gompa

Doling Gompa is a popular monastery situated on a small hillock in the quiet and green village of Barfung, only 4 kms away from Ravangla. This monastery follows the oldest sect of Buddhism, the Nyingmapa sect. It is built on a raised platform and offers a picturesque view of the towering mountains, lush greenary, thick forests against the blue sky.

One can witness the array of colourful prayer flags and colorfully people working tirelessly on the green fields of cardamom. It is known for stone bearing the footprint of Dorje Lingpa, which is permanently installed on the inner walls of the Mani Lhakhang.
