Dharmadom

Dharmadom or Dharmadam is a statistics town in Thalassery taluk of Kannur area in the territory of Kerala, India. It is known for the 100-year-old Government Brennen College and Dharmadam Island. Dharmadam is likewise home to popular Andaloor Kavu. The yearly celebration here draws a large number of fans. Assortments of theyyams are performed amid the week-long fest in February. Amid the merry season the whole town takes after veggie lover eating routine and offers rice pieces, jaggery and plantains to all visitors. India's chief bazaar Academy, Circus Academy Thalassery is likewise situated at Dharmadam.

There is a little railroad station in Dharmadam where just the neighborhood traveler trains stop. The Dharmadam Island is found 100 meters from the territory at Dharmadam. Topographically, Dharmadam is an island, on the way Thalassery and Kannur. It is encompassed by the Anjarakandy River on three sides and by the Arabian Sea on the fourth side. The Jews and the Arabs have named this place Dahfattan in their records in the twelfth century, the British named it Darmapatam and the Portuguese called it Darmapatao.
