Cheranmahadevi is a panchayat town in Tirunelveli district in the state of Tamil Nadu in India. The name "Cheranmahadevi" is mix of Three words "Cheran" + "Maha" + "Devi". It is situated on the correct side bank of the waterway Thamirabarani. Cheranmahadevi has ious sanctuaries situated in it. The Ammanatha Swamy sanctuary is one of the Nava Kailasam sanctuaries in Cheranmahadevi. This is an antiquated Shiva sanctuary. Brairava in this sanctuary doesn't have pooch with him.
Vaidhyanatha swamy sanctuary of Cheranmadevi is another antiquated Shiva sanctuary. This present sanctuary's Maha mandabam was worked by Sadaama Thiripuvana Chakrathy Kulasekaran in 1322. It has a focal government controlled archeological sanctuary named Bakthavachala vishnu sanctuary which is thought to be a landmark for its medieval carvings alluding to the time of Chola and Pandiya kings.
