Chembra Peak

Chembra Peak is the highest peak in Wayanad located near the town of Meppadi at 2,100 m. A heart-shaped lake on the way to the top of the peak is a major tourist attraction. The lake is believed to have never dried up. This lake is known as 'hridhayathadakam'.

It is the best place to visit in the early morning. View from the top is beautiful and majestic and one can also sight Kozhikode, Malappuram and Niligiri districts from here. Trekking and mountain climbing are popular activities here. The route to the peak itself has a brilliant view along with waterfalls and lush greenery the whole way. There are few green hills around on the way to top which makes it an enjoyable trek. The place is well managed and District Tourism Promotion Council provides guides along the way who shares interesting facts about the place.
