About Cabo de Rama
Cabo de Rama is located in Margao. Also known as Cape Rama fort. The fort is a Portuguese fort; here the Portuguese claimed the fort Cabo de Rama by defeating Raja of Sonada and later renovated it. In the past, the fort has switched hands between Hindu, Muslim monarchs and the Portuguese and witnessed many battles in history. Later, this fort was used as a government prison till 1955 and was adjourn again. Today, this fort is in ruins, but is a popular tourist attraction of Goa.
The Cabo de Rama fort give a major view of the Cabo de Rama beach. The cliff presents a majestic view of the Arabian Sea, blue pristine waters, and palm trees swaying with the rhythm of the beach. One gets delighted by seeing the huge greenery. The place enchants with the sound and the rhythm when the waves crack down with the rocks.
The place has church beside it; Church of Santo Antonia. The stark contrast between the fort’s wall and white rock of the church is a major eye-catching. Operating hours of the place is on all days from 9 am to 6; 30 pm One must stay back till the evening as the place throw the majestically view of the sunset coined with the mystical atmosphere.
