About Bird Sanctuary

City Bird Sanctuary, Chandigarh or Parrot Bird Sanctuary, Chandigarh is a sanctuary located in quarter 21 of the town of Chandigarh, India. It is often habitat of parrots. Hundreds of parrots stay right here. They fly in flocks in the morning and night time from here. There are two parks adjoining to this sanctuary. Flocks of parrots sit down at the trees of those parks also. It is the second one natural world sanctuary of Chandigarh. Sukhna flora and fauna sanctuary close to Sukhna Lake is another flora and fauna sanctuary of the city. It is notified underneath Section 18 of the Wildlife Act, 1972.

The parrots wake up and sleep as in line with Photoperiodism. The Municipal Corporation of U.T., Chandigarh set up excessive submit lighting affecting the sleep pattern of the parrots.
