About Bhutia Busty Monastery

Bhutia Busty monastery or Karmaa Dorjee Chyoling monastery is a Buddhist monastery positioned in Bhutia Busty, Darjeeling district, India. It belongs to the Red Sect of Buddhist Lamas. Originally a branch of the Nyingma sect's Phodang Monastery in Sikkim, it became transferred to Darjeeling in 1879. The original region was at the Observatory Hill. The monastic exercise was violently interrupted round 1788, when Nepali troops overran the land, destroyed the monastery and converted Dotsug into a place of worship committed to Mahakala.

The overseas troops have been pushed out by the British East India Company for the duration of the Anglo-Nepalese War and the territory was lower back to the Chogyal of Sikkim in 1817. In the 1860s the monastery became relocated to its gift region in Bhutia Busty. However, the monastery within the new location become also destroyed via an earthquake in 1934. The Chogyal of Sikkim helped rebuild it. The monastery has a set of old Buddhist scripts. One of the authentic portions of the "Book of Dead" is its prized ownership.
