Bhandardara

A hill station not frequented by many travellers and very less known, Bhandardara is situated about 70 kms from Nashua and 157 km from Pune in the Ahmednagar district. Despite being less known, it is a holiday resort and is one of the most beautiful hill Stations in Maharashtra. Known for its natural scenic beauty and calm environment, it's ideal to visit this town in rainy season.

Perched at a height of 750 meters on the banks of River Praa, the hill station provides plenty of adventure opportunities to the trekkers and hikers. One such interesting trek is the trek to the Ratangad Fort, where the trekkers get to pass by some excellent views.

The tiny town is blessed with beautiful waterfalls, mountains, serenity and pristine atmosphere. Tourists travelling to Nashik or Shirdi often stop by in Bhandardara and get touched by its natural beauty. There are eco tourism opportunities here.

Legends say that the sage Agastya meditated there for a year and was blessed with a stream of River Ganga, which is now known as River Praa.
