Sri Parthasarathi Temple is a standout amongst the most antiquated and celebrated sanctuary in Aranmula on the banks of the heavenly stream Pamba in Pathanamthitta region of Kerala. The Aranmula Parthasarathi sanctuary is a basic structure in Kerala style of design and the symbol of Parthasarathi is six feet high. The dividers of the sanctuary are delightfully decorated with fine paintings of the eighteenth century. The sanctuary has four gopurams towers on four sides of its external divider.
The yearly sanctuary celebration that goes on for 10 days is praised as the commemoration of the establishment of the sanctuary symbol. The celebration which falls amid the Onam season is better known for its water jubilee known as Aranmula Vallamkali. A convention of sending rice and different materials on a water watercraft as an offering for devour to the adjacent town identifies with the cause of the celebration and this custom is preceded even today.
