About Hallgrimskirkja

Hallgrímskirkja church is Reykjavík's primary point of interest and its pinnacle can be seen from wherever in the city. It was composed by the late Guðjón Samúelsson in 1937, who was regularly motivated in his undertakings by the captivating shapes and structures made when magma cools into basalt shake.

Development of the congregation started in 1945 and finished in 1986, with the pinnacle finished well before whatever is left of the building.

The Hallgrímskirkja highlights, most remarkably, an immense pipe organ outlined and developed by the German organ manufacturer Johannes Klais of Bonn. Its development was finished in December 1992 and has since been used in an assortment of chronicles, including some by Christopher Herrick.
