Varpalota

Varpalota is a city in Western Hungary, in the Transdanubian county of Veszprem. It became a mining town for the duration of the Socialist technology, however the mines were closed. Most of the citizens paintings within the nearby towns, Veszprem or Szekesfehervar. The town's origins are linked to the Roman and Avar durations, as testified confirmed by way of burial mounds, tombstones and Roman artifacts within the outskirts of the town, some of which can be determined within the lapidary of Thuri Castle. In the Middle Ages it was a flourishing marketplace town. In the twentieth century it have become a middle for coal mining.

The Thuri castle, positioned inside the heart of the metropolis. It became commanded, some of the others, via György Thuri. It is currently home to the Museum of Chemistry, and the gathering of the recollections of coal mining. Concerts and theatre performances are held there each summer season. The vintage Catholic church, home to Romanesque and early-Gothic frescos in a particularly properly situation. One of the World War I memorials erected in those days and destroyed inside the tempests of the records may be located here.
