About Szechenyi square
Szechenyi square is the primary rectangular inside the historic centre of Pecs, Hungary. In the Middle Ages it served as the marketplace region of the town with the town corridor and the parish church. Before the square become named Szechenyi in 1864 it had had several other names like Forum, Varosi piacz, Foter. The rectangular is one of the vital squares of Pecs, full of monuments, mounting step by step northward. Twelve streets fall into the square spoke-sensible. Its major points of interest are the Mosque of Pasha Qasim, the City Hall, the County Hall, the Nador motel, the Zsolnay nicely, the Fatebenefratelli Church, the Trinity statue and the brass statue of Janos Hunyadi on horse returned.
The surface of the square was rebuilt in the scope of the undertaking Pecs2010 European Cultural Capital. Within the yearly Pecs days pageant, the pageant of wine and grape is hung on the square. It is widely known gala's and vintage carnivals wine tasting of the famous wine areas of Pécs and Villany. The Christmas tree of the city is ready on Szechenyi square.
