About Balatonalmadi
Balatonalmadi is a popular hotel town in Veszprem county, in Hungary, with a population of 8,500, located at the northern shore of Lake Balaton. The city advanced from three previously separated villages, which were united via combining Balatonalmadi and Káptalanfüred in 1952, and Balatonalmadi and Vorosbereny in 1971. At its beginnings, the settlement changed into called Almadi, and later Almadi-puszta, and belonged to the vineyard positioned on the modern city centre.
The vineyards had been destroyed ultimately of the 1800s via phylloxera. There is a completely unique Calvinist church. Around the church there may be a special stonewall. Not far from here there is a Catholic church, which became constructed among 1977–79. Inside there are frescoes. On the opposite side there may be a building from the 18th century. Under this building there is a big cellar where a wine house and wine museum may be opened as nicely. The village of Vorosbereny existed already during the Hungarian conquest.
