About Lantau Island
Lantau Island is one of the largest Hong Kong's islands, lies at the mouth of the Pearl River. Its mountainous interior includes 934m-high Lantau Peak, known for its sunrises, and the area can be traversed by hikers on the 70km Lantau Trail from MuiWo Silver Mine Bay.
Po Lin Monastery is the site of the bronze Tian Tan Buddha, a 34m-tall statue on a ridge came to by a long stairway. Initially the site of angling towns, the island has been created as of late with the development of Tung Chung New Town on its north-western drift and the fruition of a few noteworthy framework ventures
