About Lam Tsuen Wishing Trees

The sanctuary was worked around 1768or 1771, during the reign of the Qianlong Emperor in the Qing administration 1644-1912. The two banyan trees are frequented by visitors and local people amid the Lunar New Year. Beforehand, they consumed joss sticks, composed their desires on joss paper fixing to an orange, at that point tossed them up to hang in these trees. It was trusted that if the paper effectively clung to one of the tree limbs, these desires would work out as expected.

The Hong Kong Morris, a morris moving group situated in Hong Kong, moves at the Wishing Tree on 1 May every year to commend the entry of summer. It was utilized as the 'most astounding regulatory body' in Lam Tsuen, in charge of strategies and organization of the towns shrouded in Lam Tsuen.
