About Grass Island
Grass Island or Tap Mun is an island in Hong Kong, situated in the northeastern piece of the domain. Officially, it is a piece of the Tai Po District. There are around 100 individuals living on the island, and non domesticated cattles are known on the island. Grass Island is situated in the northeastern piece of the Hong Kong region, between Mirs Bay and the North Channel. Toward the east is Kung Chau, toward the south is the South Channel, toward the west is Wan Tsai and toward the southwest is Long Harbour.
A tablet in the Tin Hau Temple on the island states Tap Mun, as a component of Mirs Bay, was enrolled under the organization of the Dongguan County by the Tsui and Yip families before 1573 and that they subsequently held the subsoil; "the bones of the land" rights as citizen under the Customary Land Law.
