A re-appropriated military post transformed into a social wonderland in 1987, in the state of the volcanoes which encompass it, Teatro Nacional lies in the core of the city and contains five edifices, an astounding perspective of the city and Civic Center, brilliant acoustics and everything under the sun from plays to ballet performances to shows.
In the vision of its designer, Efrain Recinos, the perfect work of art is roused by Mayan culture and offers an open-air, chamber and fundamental theater, and additionally a Museum of Old Fort of San José which suits a little military historical center home to an imitation of the primary sustained Mayan city of Mesoamerica: Punta de Chiminios.
