About Recalling South Pacific Memorial Park
Visit South Pacific Memorial Park in Yigo, Guam that recalls those who were killed in WWII. It also commemorates those soldiers who killed in the War that took place in the Pacific National Historical Park, displaying five WWII battle locations with relics and war photos. It seriously serves as the reminder of a battle where more than a-half million Americans, Japanese, and Pacific Islanders. If you look at the centerpiece of this memorial, your eyes will be jammed at a 50-foot masterpiece that abstractly shows hands embraced in prayer praying for tranquility. Further, beneath this monument you will notice the remnants of Japanese soldiers who unfortunately sacrificed their lives in the final days of Guam's wartime occupation. Then moves towards the path that lies right to the monument paves the way to the shallow canyon where command post hidden by Obata inside the intricate caves. You may also bump into a small Buddhist Chapel located on the memorial grounds popular as the abode of the WWII artifacts. Last of all, this park was established, and is preserved by donations given by Japanese citizens and is open daily for public eye from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
