About Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes
The Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes, otherwise called the Kastello is a medieval stronghold in the city of Rhodes, on the island of Rhodes in Greece. It is one of only a handful couple of cases of Gothic engineering in Greece. The site was already a bastion of the Knights Hospitaller that worked as a royal residence, home office, and post. As per late investigation, in the correct spot in which the royal residence exists today, there was the establishments of the antiquated sanctuary of the Sun-god 'Helios' and most likely that was where Colossus of Rhodes remained in the Antiquity. The castle was initially worked in the late seventh century as a Byzantine stronghold.
The lower some portion of the castle was seriously harmed by an ammo blast in 1856. Accordingly, numerous rooms in the main floor were decimated. Amid the Italian control of Rhodes, the Italian engineer Vittorio Mesturino reestablished the harmed parts of the royal residence in the vicinity of 1937 and 1940. It turned into an occasion living arrangement for the King of Italy, Victor Emmanuel III, and later for Fascist despot Benito Mussolini, whose name can in any case be seen on an expansive plaque close to the passage.
