About Byzantine Museum of Veroia
The Byzantine Museum of Veroia became opened in 2002. It is housed within the antique Markos mill adjoining to the city partitions of Veroia in Central Macedonia, Greece, at the boundary of the listed quarter of Kyriotissa. The museum’s founding mission is to make recognized the monuments in Veroia and the encompassing area, which date from Byzantine and Post-Byzantine instances, to make the traditions of the area recognised and to collaborate with different Byzantine museums in Macedonia to arrange periodic exhibitions.
The museum’s three-storey building will residence everlasting exhibitions so that it will keep their artistic self-sufficiency. The exhibition entitled "Veroia, Part of the Byzantine Empire" is on show on the primary ground of the constructing. It is a in particular first-class collection of portable icons lots of which might be double-sided, wall-paintings, mosaic floors from the courtyard of the church of Agios Patapios in Veroia, manuscripts and early printed works, pottery ceramic items for everyday use and glazed pottery, Byzantine cash and wood-carvings.
